Bites

A bite mark can identify the perpetrator in a child abuse case, and all bites should be considered intentional until proven otherwise. One scientific study (Trube-Becker) demonstrated that in 11 out of 48 (23%) abuse cases, bite marks were present. Each of these particular cases resulted in death (not from the bites). The most common areas where bites were found were the limbs, abdomen, and cheeks. (from childabuseconsulting.com)
