Kidney histology

The kidney has a bean-shaped structure; each kidney has a convex and concave surface.  The image below shows glomeruli, and both proximal and distal convoluted tubules.  The distal convoluted tubules appear slightly lighter and the lumen appears lighter due to the lack of cilia.
